russian shipbuilding corporation prioritizes engine protection on new vessels

Russian small missile ships will receive enhanced protection for their engine compartments against Ukrainian Magura naval drones. This was announced by Renat Mistakhov, the CEO of Ak Bars shipbuilding corporation.

Additional protection for the engine compartments will be provided to the small missile ships entering service with the russian Navy. The shipbuilding corporation is constructing small missile ships of the Project 22800 Karakurt, Project 21631 Buyan-M and others.

“We need to ensure the protection of the engine compartment, which is a “bottleneck” on all ships. It is the heart of the ship... And we will provide additional protection,” Renat Mistakhov said.
