The National Guard of Ukraine brought down the Mi-24 attack helicopter with the Igla-1 surface-to air missile system in Bakhmut

“The National Guard of Ukraine detected 2 Mi-24 attack helicopters, one of them was shot down by the operator of the Igla-1 surface-to-air missile system on the eastern outskirts of Bakhmut at 14:12, February 7,” said the head of the 3rd Operational Brigade with the call sign “Partizan”.

According to the National Guard of Ukraine, the helicopter had been firing units and covering russian infantry advancing on Ukrainian positions. After it was shot down, the helicopter started to lose altitude and fell. The status of the pilot is unknown.

It should be noted that the Mi-24 aircraft is one of the fastest attack helicopters and 3rd russian helicopter shot down by the 3rd Operational Brigade over the last 11 months.

It should be recalled that the Ukrainian border guards brought down the Su-25 attack aircraft and an UAV in the sky over Bakhmut on February 7.
