The Armed Forces of russia continue to modernize their artillery arsenal, with the latest addition being upgraded Msta-SM2 152 mm self-propelled howitzers. According to russian media, a motorized rifle formation of the Central Military District in Orenburg region has received over 40 units of new weaponry, including the Msta-SM2 systems.
The Msta-SM2 howitzer is a significant improvement over its predecessor, the 2S19 Msta-S system.
