We rarely get to see this vehicle in action

Among various types of modern russian equipment, the BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicle with the latest upgrade – the "Berezhok" combat module, is rarely seen on the Ukrainian frontlines.

The first units were spotted back in April–May this year, however they did not receive that much attention and got quite rarely used in actual combat, as we can conclude from publicly available data. The OSINT community Oryx has counted so far only 9 units either destroyed or captured by Ukrainian forces.

And the footage from the warriors of the 92th Mechanized Brigade of AFU below might be the first video of this combat vehicle on an actual mission.

As we can see, it took a drone with small grenades and quite a number of strikes from multiple directions to put this vehicle out of order as it got separated from the column.

As a reminder, the BMP-2M which entered service with the russian army in 2019, has received a new "Berezhok" turret with four "Kornet" anti-tank missile launchers, an AG-17 30-mm automatic grenade launcher, a better UTD-23 engine, and new sights: the one with panoramic view and a thermal imager.

There are only about a few dozen BMP-2M vehicles in service with the russian army overall. So we don't get to see them fighting in Ukraine that often. And the russians seem to have become more careful about revealing the real combat experience of their most advanced weapons, especially since the failed debut of their "Terminator" IFV.
