Following the violation of Polish airspace by Belarusian helicopters, Warsaw has now taken decisive action in response to the threat. Recognizing the significant impact on the border region, Poland’s Minister of Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, arrived at the scene.
During his visit, the Minister announced that Mi-24 and W-3 Sokol helicopters (Polish licensed and modernized versions of the Mi-2 helicopter with armament) will be stationed in constant readiness near the border. The defense department’s press service also released images from the meeting with personnel and command, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

On one of the images, there was a map of the eastern border of the country with markings indicating the positions of the Armed Forces of Poland responsible for its defense.
In the area around Bialystok, there is a symbol representing a reconnaissance group, likely part of the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade, responsible for border defense. It was in this unit’s responsibility zone where the breach of the border occurred by the Belarusian helicopters in the Bialowieza region.
Further north, in the Suwalki Corridor, where Lithuanian President reported the concentration of Wagner Group mercenaries, an anti-tank unit is positioned. The exact number of markings on the map couldn’t be determined, but it appears to indicate the presence of a battalion from the 14th Anti-Tank Artillery Regiment.
The map may also suggest the existence of another unit, potentially tasked with covering the border between Bielsk Podlaski and Siedlce, under the command of the 1st Brigade of Land Forces Aviation in Poland. Meanwhile, the remaining markings are likely indicative of support and logistical units located in Siedlce and Lomza.
However, it is important to approach this information with caution, as the map could be misleading or even disinformation. It is unlikely that the entire 400 km-long border with Belarus is solely protected by the depicted forces.
