North Korean troops adapt to losses with new battlefield approaches

On December 16, 2024, russia intensified its use of North Korean troops in combat operations within Kursk region. Despite suffering substantial losses, these units have adapted by setting up additional observation posts aimed at detecting drones used by Ukrainian forces, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reports.

North Korean troops have adopted distinct operational tactics, gathering in small groups of 20-30 soldiers before advancing in even smaller units of up to six servicemen to their staging areas. This approach appears to be an effort to minimize exposure and maintain stealth during their movements.
