The Netherlands plans to modernize and expand its fleet of armored vehicles. To that end, it will acquire additional CV90 IFVs, ACSV tracked support vehicles, and self-propelled bridge-layers, procure new Wisent 2 armoured engineering vehicles, and replace its Kodiak armoured engineering vehicles.
Derk Boswijk, the State Secretary for Defense, announced this in a written statement to parliament. The statement notes that local industry will be actively involved in the project. This includes both the supply of various components and the organization of the final assembly of the ACSV and BREM vehicles.

The CV90 IFVs are intended for a newly established mechanized battalion, which will be stationed at the Nassau-Dietz barracks in Büdel. The procurement will take place as part of a joint initiative with other countries led by Sweden, which will not only improve cooperation with allies but also ensure an accelerated delivery schedule.
The new equipment is generally intended to reinforce the Dutch Army's heavy and medium brigades. The document also notes that the procurement is being carried out in light of the risk of a full-scale conflict.

From Defense Express we would like to note that this confirms the partially known plans to strengthen the Dutch armored vehicle fleet. It also shows that all of these procurement projects are nearing approval and the signing of firm contracts.
It should be noted that Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Estonia are participating in a joint procurement of CV90 IFVs. It was previously reported that the parties intended to sign a contract in June 2026, but this has not yet happened. Furthermore, back in April, Estonia suspended its participation in the project and redirected funds toward air defense.
The Netherlands plans to spend between €1 billion and €2.5 billion on new CV90s. Meanwhile, the modernization of 128 CV9035s and the production of 15 Mjolnir self-propelled mortars based on the country's existing fleet of CV90s are currently underway.

As for the ACSV, the Netherlands is procuring them both as support vehicles and as chassis for various specialized equipment. This primarily refers to the NOMADS and Skyranger 30 air defense systems. Overall, there are plans to procure more than 400 such vehicles, with local production by Dutch industry.
The Netherlands currently has Leopard 2-based Leguan bridge-laying vehicles in service. As for the AEV 3 Kodiak engineering vehicles, the country currently has 10 of them, and plans to replace them were announced earlier this year.
