A deep strike attributed to the Defense Intelligence hit russian military installation near Desantnaya Bay, causing significant damage and casualties

On Friday, May 30, a series of powerful explosions rocked russian military installation near Desantnaya Bay in Vladivostok. According to sources cited by Army TV, the incident was the result of a special operation carried out by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

At least two explosions occurred on the grounds of a military base housing the 47th Separate Air Assault Battalion of russia’s 155th Brigade. One blast reportedly struck near the main checkpoint, while the second hit a location used by both personnel and the unit’s command. The strike is said to have inflicted casualties among russian troops and damaged military equipment and special assets.

Witnesses described a chaotic aftermath, with at least ten ambulances and evacuation helicopters rushing to the scene. Damaged equipment was seen being loaded onto military trucks for removal. These accounts strongly suggest significant losses, both human and material, despite the russian government’s attempt to downplay the incident.

In an official statement, local authorities claimed that the explosions were caused by the accidental detonation of two gas cylinders and insisted that no one was injured. However, the declaration stands in stark contrast to eyewitness reports and the military response observed at the site.

Russian media remained largely silent or repeated the official version, while regional authorities declared a “counter-terrorist operation regime” in Vladivostok, a move often used by russian security services to lock down areas after suspected acts of sabotage or attacks.

As Defense Express previously reported, on May 29, a mobile anti-aircraft missile system operated by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine successfully downed modern russian jet-powered drone over the Black Sea.
