In the training centers of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hunters for enemy Shaheds, Orlans, Lancets, and even cruise missiles are actively trained

The Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, reported this on Facebook.

According to him, small-caliber anti-aircraft artillery is now at the forefront of countering enemy UAVs.

"One of the most common means of countering these aerial threats remains the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns," added Pavlyuk.

"ZU-23-2 is rapid-firing and mobile," said Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Oles. And also simple, reliable, mass-produced, and versatile. "Therefore, training of operators for the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns is constantly ongoing at the ground forces training centers".

Note that the ZU-23-2, also known as ZU-23, is a Soviet towed 23×152mm anti-aircraft twin-barreled autocannon.

The ZU-23-2, developed in the late 1950s, was designed to engage low-flying targets within a range of 2.5 km, as well as armored vehicles up to two kilometers away. It served the purpose of providing direct defense to troops and strategic locations against air assaults, typically carried out by helicopters and low-flying airplanes.

The ZU-23-2 features two 23 mm autocannons mounted on a small trailer, which can be converted into a stationary mount for firing. This development ultimately led to the creation of the ZSU-23-4 Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft gun.
