"The Syzran oil refinery has a design capacity of up to 8.5 million tons of crude oil per year, which accounts for about 3.08% of russia's total refining capacity," the statement reads.
The facility specializes in the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products supplied to the russian army.
"Strikes and detonations were recorded in the area of the facility. The consequences of the attack are being clarified," the General Staff noted.
The General Staff also emphasized that Ukraine's Defense Forces are systematically implementing measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of russian occupation forces, destabilizing their logistics capabilities, particularly in fuel and lubricant supplies, and forcing russia to end its armed aggression against Ukraine.
Also, on August 24, Ukrainian forces struck the Ust-Luga terminal in Leningrad Region and multiple supply hubs in Belgorod and Voronezh.
