HIMARS squads seem to have taken the elimination of russian artillery seriously

Short-range artillery rocket systems M142 HIMARS are being more and more involved in the counter battery warfare of the Ukrainian army against russian occupiers.

Recently, a new result of such work was disclosed by "Army SOS" fund volunteer Yaroslav Tropynov: two 203mm 2S7 "Pion" (Malka) self-propelled howitzers were destroyed by the high-precision rockets of HIMARS.

It took exactly two rockets to take them down, one per russian artillery piece. The firing mission was facilitated by Ukranian-made Valkyria UAV and Kropyva combat control system.

We should note that 2S7 "Pion" is not a common target, but a rather rare one: only 4 of them were destroyed or damaged in Ukraine since February 2022, and only one unit was captured by the Ukrainian forces, according to the Oryx Community.

However, we can clearly see a trend: earlier we covered how HIMARS rocket launchers were destroying not only russian bases, but their equipment on the frontlines, too. The video below compiles the footage of HIMARS/M270 destroying columns of russian armor, MLRS and howitzers.
