The German government has announced the delivery of a new military aid package to Ukraine, strengthening Kyiv’s defense capabilities amid ongoing war with russia.

Key items in the package include the IRIS-T SLS air defense system, known for its effectiveness in intercepting aerial threats, and the Bergepanzer 2 recovery vehicle, which is vital for recovering damaged vehicles on the battlefield. Additionally, Germany is providing 26 Vector reconnaissance drones, enhancing Ukraine’s intelligence and surveillance capabilities.

Other significant contributions include 14,000 rounds of 155 mm ammunition, 10 unmanned surface vessels, 6 engineering excavators and 55,000 first aid kits, ensuring both offensive and defensive operations are well-supported. The package also includes rifles.

Despite plans to reduce its budget for aid to Kyiv in 2025, the German government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of russia’s full-scale invasion.
