russian forces launched an offensive in the Kursk region in an attempt to debloking its troops and liberate the region from the Defense Forces of Ukraine. However, their actions have achieved the opposite result

Military observer Denys Popovych told about the counteroffensive actions of russian occupiers in the Kursk region on the FREEDOM TV channel.

"According to information, russian army's counterattacks in the Kursk region began on September 10. We saw a video of an armored group that moved very quickly towards Snagost village. Obviously, there were subsequent battles for this settlement. At the same time, there was information that the enemy was attacking near Gordeevka. Accordingly, it could be concluded that at the first stage of this counteroffensive, russia tried to deblock the troops that were trapped in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region between the state border and the streambed of the Seym river. There were many reports of encirclement from russian propagandists, of the collapse of the left flank of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region. But no, this did not happen. The enemy is stuck in the battles for Snagost, and they are not advancing any further," said the military observer.

He added that at the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces made a new crossing of the Kursk region border in the Hlushkiv district.

"So, the border has been breached in a new section, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have moved deeper, apparently fighting for the village of Vesyoloye. It is quite possible that the Ukrainian army's advance is more significant, but it is difficult to know because we are forced to rely on unofficial sources. Ukraine's General Staff keeps silence on the matter. But we can say with certainty that the russian federation has achieved the opposite effect, trying to deblock its troops and liberate the Kursk region. They are losing new areas in the Kursk region," summarized Denys Popovych.

Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukrainian paratroopers had destroyed russian airborne unit in Kursk, taking out five IFVs, a tank, and an APC.
