Ukraine's Defense Intelligence has released exclusive footage detailing a special operation conducted in November 2025 on the Pokrovsk axis, one of the most contested sectors of the eastern front. The mission was carried out by fighters of the Black Winter Group, operating as part of the Tymur Special Unit under the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
According to the report, the operation was designed to stabilize a critical section of the front line at a moment when russian forces were attempting to press their advantage. The footage captures key episodes of the mission, highlighting the intensity of combat and the high tempo at which Ukrainian special forces were required to operate.

A distinctive element of the operation was the use of Ukrainian aviation assets to rapidly deploy an airborne detachment. This swift insertion allowed Ukrainian forces to reinforce defensive positions before russian troops could consolidate gains, underscoring the importance of mobility and timing in modern battlefield conditions.
Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defense Intelligence, later explained the strategic value of the operation in an interview with Channel 24. He emphasized that the mission bought critical time, enabling main units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to move into the area and strengthen the city's defenses.
"We managed to win precious time so that the main units could reach the city with reinforcements. After that, everyone stopped saying the city had been taken," Kyrylo Budanov stated.
Aerial reconnaissance units and FPV drone operators also played a decisive role. By identifying enemy positions and conducting precision strikes, they disrupted russian assault elements and reduced pressure on Ukrainian defensive lines, demonstrating the growing integration of unmanned systems into special operations.
The actions of the Black Winter Group highlighted a high level of coordination between ground forces, aviation, and drone teams. This combined-arms approach allowed Ukrainian intelligence units to operate effectively despite numerical pressure from russian troops.
