The situation on the eastern front remains challenging, with russian invaders actively deploying additional forces and resources in the region.
That's according to Ukrainian Ground Forces Commander, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reports.

"In order to stop the offensive actions of our troops in the Bakhmut area, the enemy is actively moving additional forces and means to this sector, most of them consisting of airborne troops," Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on 17 July.
According to Syrskyi, the russian army has launched an offensive in the Kupiansk direction. The russians have set the goal of defeating Ukrainian forces near Kupiansk and continuing their advance deep into Ukrainian-controlled territory.
In response to these difficult circumstances, Colonel-General Syrskyi personally visited the combat brigades of the Ukrainian contingent and held meetings with unit commanders to adjust plans and address issues on-site.
"Of course, I met with our servicemen in each of the brigades and presented the best soldiers with awards, valuable gifts and bonus certificates," Syrskyi added.
He emphasized that crucial decisions were made in coordination with the commanders to stabilize the situation in the Lyman sector.
"All commanders understand the importance of the assigned tasks in terms of destroying the enemy, continuing offensive actions and holding the operational initiative," Ukraine’s top general says.
Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar previously reported that the enemy had been actively advancing in the Kupiansk sector for consecutive days. Ukrainian defenders hold the defense, fierce battles are fought.
