The Ministry of Defense of Spain officially announced that on September 9, 2022, a T-23 aircraft of the Spanish Aerospace Forces took off from the Torrejon de Ardos air base (Madrid) and is transporting ammunition for large-caliber field artillery to Ukraine. It is noted that this is already the fifth flight with weapons transferred to Ukraine by Spain in recent days.

Last week, four flights took off from the base in Rota (Cádiz) with the support of an ally. In total, the shipments that were carried out these days amount to 75 pallets of large-caliber ammunition.
The head of the Ministry of Defense of Spain, Margarita Robles, arrived at the plane before departure to Cádiz to participate in commemorative events on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the first round-the-world voyage and spoke with the crew.

In addition, in response to the clear appeal of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine during the last ministerial meeting in Prague, the Ministry of Defense of Spain sent a truck with medical supplies. Also, in response to the Ukrainian authorities’ request for materials and uniforms for winter conditions, 20 trucks have already left Spain with equipment that was prepared by the logistics unit of the Spanish Army during August.
As the Minister of Defense of Spain, Margarita Robles, told her colleagues from the European Union at the ministerial meeting in Prague, all these supplies are an example of the determined and constant support of the Ukrainian people by Spain for a long time.
