Due to the defense ministry's miscalculation, the belarusian army has four systems fewer in service than expected

The republic of belarus has received a new batch of "Tor-M2K" surface-to-air missile systems from russia, according to the official statement from the belarusian ministry of defense released on December 22. The next day, a video of the mentioned air defense systems was published.

The ministry's note says this batch of vehicles was transferred due to the "existing intergovernmental agreement on military and technical cooperation between belarus and the russian federation." The weapons are said to go to their respective units "in the coming days."

According to the information obtained by the "Belarusian Hajun project", a community that monitors the movements of military machinery inside belarus, these Tor systems arrived in the "Locomotive depot" in Baranovichi and then departed for the 120th air defense brigade's permanent base.

Speaking of the Tor-M2K in general, the first supply of these systems took place 11 years ago, in December of 2011. The country's defense minister back in the day announced ambitious plans to receive at least ten batteries of these air defense weapons.

However, with these newly arrived systems taken into account, the belarusian army has only 18 "Tor" systems in total, composed into six batteries, or two divisions.
