Ukrainian Defense Forces' achievements fuel growing interest in the nation's arms at the Indo Defence Expo & Forum

The National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industry Enterprises (NAUDI) is presenting Ukrainian-made defense products at the Indo Defence Expo & Forum, held from June 11 to 14 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Ukrainian delegation includes 11 companies, among them Ukrainian Armor, Kvertus, VEEM-Metalavtoprom, KTD Plus, KTD Jupiter, OKO Camera, LFTIX, Aviation Systems of Ukraine, and Tritel.

According to NAUDI's press service, Ukrainian systems attracted strong interest on the very first day of the exhibition — not only from the Indonesian Ministry of Defense but also from delegations of other countries and international defense companies. Foreign visitors were particularly drawn to Ukraine's electronic warfare systems, armored vehicles, artillery, and drones. The heightened interest was boosted by Ukraine's recent success in the Operation Spider Web against russian strategic aviation.

Ukrainian technologies have earned credibility globally due to their proven effectiveness on the battlefield. Many of the systems exhibited, such as the Novator armored vehicle, the MP-120 mortar, the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled howitzer, and Kvertus' electronic warfare tools, frequently appear in combat footage from Ukraine.

Among the less-publicized items on display we can also spot parachute systems for fighter jets and cargo drops, and the upgraded P-18S radar, capable of detecting targets at distances of up to 350 km.

Indo Defence is one of Southeast Asia's largest military exhibitions, underlined by the fact that it was opened by the President of Indonesia personally. Participating in global defense expos like this is crucial not only for the economic interests of Ukrainian manufacturers but also for strengthening Ukraine's prestige on international arena, says Serhii Honcharov, CEO of NAUDI.

He also noted that russia aggressively promotes its military products abroad, too: "Unfortunately, our enemy is actively pushing its agenda and influence through this line of business. We, on the other hand, need to respond by reinforcing our own presence," Honcharov said, referring to Ukrainian arms manufacturers as a whole.

While Ukraine's defense exports are currently restricted, industry representatives believe that, in the future, proven battlefield performance will help Ukrainian systems secure a strong position on the global arms market — potentially even pushing russian systems out in key sectors.
