Germany provided Ukraine with the first (out of four) IRIS-T SLM air defense complex. According to SPIEGEL, the transmission took place on October 11 near the Polish-Ukrainian border.

However, it is still not enough to effectively "close the sky" from russian missiles, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of supplying Ukraine with more modern air defense and anti-missile systems during a video conference of the leaders of the Group of Seven.
Thus, he thanked the President of Germany Olaf Scholz for speeding up the delivery of the IRIS-T air defense system and the US President Joe Biden for the decision to provide modern anti-missile and air defense systems.
At the same time, Zelenskyy also appealed to the President of France Emmanuel Macron and the Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi with a request to supply SAMP-T anti-aircraft missile systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, saying Ukraine needs these systems "in the coming months."
