 Russia’s Su-25 Close Air Support Jets Relocated from Belarus to Voronezh Oblast

Russia has relocated its Su-25 close air support jet aircraft from Belarus to an airfield on its territory in Voronezh Oblast. The Sukhoi Su-25 Grach (Russian: Грач (rook); NATO reporting name: Frogfoot) is a subsonic, single-seat, twin-engine jet aircraft developed in the Soviet Union by Sukhoi Design Bureau. It was widely used in 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine

As of April 15, Russian aerospace forces have practically finished the relocation of combat aircraft from Belarus to advanced airfields near the Eastern operational zone. It applies to the Su-25 jets for the support of ground forces in the first place, Defense Express reports, citing its own sources.

At least 30 units of Su-25 aircraft arrived at an airfield in Voronezh Oblast. Besides, the Russian aerospace forces command has dramatically decreased the presence of other types frontline aircraft located in Belarus. The numbers reduced from dozens to units. There are a few Su-24 and Su-34 aircraft involved in the operational-tactical missions.

At least 8 units of russian Su-25 close air suppor jet aircraft had been struck by Ukraine's fighter jets as well as SAM and MANPADS during Russia-Ukraine war.

Defense Express reported that during only the day of March 8-9 Four Su-25 aircraft were shot down by the fighter aircraft and S-300 and Buk SAMs.

As Defense Express reported earlier citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02 to 14.04 were following: Personnel - more 19 900, Tanks ‒ 753 units, APV ‒ 1968 units, Artillery systems – 366 units, MLRS – 122 units, Anti-aircraft warfare systems – 64 units, Aircraft – 160 units, Helicopters – 144 units, Vehicles – 1437 units, Boats / cutters - 7 units, Fuel tanks - 76, UAV operational-tactical level - 134 units, Special equipment – 25, Mobile SRBM system - 4.

We also reported that russia’s Black Sea flagship 'moskva' had been hit by Ukraine's Neptune Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles. According to the russian ministry of defense officiall statement the moskva sank while being towed to the port of destination.
