In February 2023, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade published footage of another version of this MLRS, namely the Bastion-1.

Defense Express reminds that the Bastion MLRS is actually a modernization of the Soviet BM-21 Grad on the KrAZ-6322 chassis. The vehicle was developed in two versions: the basic Bastion-1 and the Bastion-2 with an extended wheelbase and additional ammunition. Also, Bastion-2 can be equipped with two MANPADS.

According open sources, the development of the system started in 2008, and a year later the vehicle was demonstrated for the first time. Subsequently, the vehicles were supplied to the Ukrainian army, however, it is currently unknown how many of them are in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, therefore, probably, the facts of their use on the battlefield appear quite rarely.

A feature of this MLRS is the automatic reloading system. Thanks to that, after reloading, the next fire load can be launched in two minutes (in the case of manual reloading, this figure is 7 minutes).
