As the Ukraine’s General Staff operational update regarding the russian invasion as of 06.00, on December 08, 2022 states, during the past day, Ukrainian Air Force conducted 17x air strikes on the concentrations of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment, and 2x air strikes on the positions of enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
At the same time, our soldiers shot down 1x "Shahed-136" type attack drone and 1x "Orlan-10" reconnaissance UAV.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian missile and artillery troops engaged 6x command posts, 5x concentrations of enemy troops, 1x artillery position, and 2x enemy ammunition depots.
Key points of the report:
- Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings reported.
- Sivershchyna axis: Khrinivka and Hremyach (Chernihiv oblast); Novovasylivka, Ulytsia, Chernats’ke, and Seredyna Buda (Sumy oblast) came under russian mortar and artillery attacks.
- Slobozhanshchyna axis: the areas of Udy, Veterynarne, Starytsya, Ohirtseve, Vovchans’ki Khutory, Ambarne, Bolohivka, Dvorichna, and Kam’yanka (Kharkiv oblast) were shelled by tanks and artillery.
- The adversary stays on defensive on Kup’yansk axis. The vicinities of Kup’yans’k, Synkivka, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne, Berestov, and Pershotravneve settlements (Kharkiv oblast); Stelmakhivka and Andriivka (Luhansk oblast) were subject to enemy attacks.
- Lyman axis: shelling took place in the vicinities of Hrekivka, Makiivka, and Ploshanka (Luhansk oblast); Terniv, Dibrova, and Hryhorivka (Donetsk oblast).
- Bakhmut and Avdiivka axes: russian troops make further attempts to advance on various directions. The settlements of Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmuts’ke, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Kurdyumivka, Druzhba, Zalizne, Pervomais’ke, Nevels’ke, Krasnohorivka, Mar’inka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast) came under tank, mortar, artillery and MLRS fire.
- The adversary stays on defensive on Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia axes. Russian invaders carried out artillery and mortar shelling of Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, Prechistivka, and Zolotaya Niva (Donetsk oblast).
- Kherson axis: the enemy stays on defensive and continues to strengthen its groupings in the area. More than 15x settlements along the contact line were hit by artillery. Among them are Zolota Balka, Kachkarivka, Lvove, Tokarivka, Inzhenerne, Antonivka, and Dniprovs’ke (Kherson oblast). The Bilohrudy island and the cities of Kherson and Mykolaiv also came under fire.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled attacks of the russian invaders in the vicinities of Ternov (Kharkiv oblast); Stelmakhivka, Ploschanka, Chervonpopivka, and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast); Bilohorivka, Berestov, Yakovlivka, Bakhmuts’ke, Bakhmut, Opytne, Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk, Mar’inka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast).
Last day the enemy launched 7x missile and 16x air strikes, and conducted more than 40x MLRS attacks.
Further threat of missile strikes on national energy grid and critical infrastructure across Ukraine remains high.
As Ukraine’s General Staff operational report states, about 20x armed individuals, reportedly former inmates, have deserted their unit on the way to frontline positions in the vicinities of the temporarily occupied city of Yasynuvata (Donetsk oblast). As a result of police operation, 3x deserters were neutralized. Activities are ongoing. Russians follow their famous sying: "Beat your friends, so your enemies will be scared of you".
The russian occupiers plan to mobilize local residents in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia oblast in order to replenish current losses. In particular, in the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia oblast, drafts were issued to men of conscription age with the requirement to come to the military commissariat in the near future.
