117,500 units of weapons and military equipment from the allies as military aid is astronomical when compared with the figures as on 2018-2021

In 2022, Ukraine received more than 117,500 units of weapons and other military equipment from Western partners alone. Such data was published by the Military Media Center with reference to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It’s more than impressive figure, if it is compared with the data regarding weapons supply to Ukraine before the full-scale russian invasion.

In particular, Defense Express reminds the statistics for previous years, although there’s difference in calculation approach. For example, in 2018, 1,500 units of new and modernized weapons and military equipment were delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a state defense order, and more than 4,200 units were repaired.

According to the results of 2019, a total of 7,434 units of weapons and military equipment and about 2,000 large-caliber ammunition were sent to the army. According to the results of 2020, the transfer of 3.6 thousand units of weapons and military equipment was reported.

And as of 2021, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other power structures received 3,000 basic types of weapons and military equipment, as well as 2,000 missiles, ammunition and means of destruction.

Thus, from 2018 to 2021, the Ukrainian Army received more than 20,000 samples of weapons and military equipment. But Defense Express notes that the official data is not structured, in different years they could have been formed according to different methodologies. For example, the equipment that had undergone repair works, or only new and modernized units, etc.

At the same time, even significant changes of several thousand units in the final number during this period will not be able to affect the fact that in recent years the Ukraine has received 5-6 times less weapons and military equipment than in one year 2022 as aid from allies.
