The recent strikes on oil facilities are a crucial step to deprive the occupiers of fuel and complicate the export of oil or gas. Soon, strikes may occur even against 'gray' vessels that export russian raw materials, says Viktor Yahun, a national security expert

The strikes by the Ukrainian self-defense forces on the oil depot in Tuapse or Leningrad Oblast can be considered a new strategy, where the Main Directorate of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR) and the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) take on greater responsibility for the destruction of enemy military targets.

In an interview with Focus, Viktor Yahun, a military and public figure, Major General of the Security Service of Ukraine, and national security expert, stated his views on the recent strikes and new tactics.

According to him, currently, the GUR is conducting operations against the enemy's military defense industry, while the SSU is overseeing logistical routes to significantly complicate the movement of occupiers and the supply of everything necessary to their army.

"The SSU is also involved in destroying logistical hubs where russia attempts to overload oil or gas for export," emphasizes the retired Major General. "Even russian economists have acknowledged that this has caused export problems for the russian federation."

Victor Yahun does not exclude that soon there may be strikes by unknown naval drones on the so-called "gray" vessels carrying russian raw materials. These vessels are a legitimate military target for Ukraine, as russia funds the occupant army with money from oil or gas, providing them with weapons.

"russia spends up to a billion dollars per day on the war with Ukraine, and these significant amounts are facilitated by the "gray" export fleet," says the expert. "Therefore, it is crucial for Ukraine to stop or complicate the income flow from such exports."
