Pavlo Lakiychuk, Head of Security Programs at the Strategy XXI Center for Global Studies, noted that the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region has slowed due to the extensive front line and the critical need to secure defenses on the flanks

He said this on Espreso TV.

“The Ukrainian army continues to advance in the Kursk region. However, it is not surprising that the pace of our troops' advance has slowed. This is expected due to the extensive area of combat operations. We need to secure the flanks and deploy additional reserves to ensure the long-term success of this operation. Meanwhile, despite our progress in the Kursk region, the russians show no signs of slowing their offensive in the eastern part of our country,” explained Lakiychuk.

The expert also noted that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains extremely challenging.

“It appears that the russians are prepared to do whatever it takes to advance in the Donetsk region. Following the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in the Kursk region, the intensity of the enemy’s attacks in Donetsk has actually increased. The strength of their assaults in the Pokrovsk sector has grown significantly, making the situation there extremely challenging,” he added.
