Available access to russia's latest radar system will allow NATO specialists not only to study this radar "in detail", but also to give the necessary recommendations to colleagues from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to better deal with invaiders air defense

Photos have appeared in the public domain that may indicate that the 91N6 radar station, which is part of the S-400 surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, could have been used to provide air defense of the NATO summit venue in Vilnius. This russian-made radar station could be provided by Turkey - within the framework of fulfilling its obligations as a member of the Alliance

This was noticed by the OSINT analyst Airbus/Ben-Reuter, who posted the corresponding photos on Twitter.

Until now, there was no mention in the public domain that Turkey uses the S-400 SAM systems purchased from the russian federation or their individual elements within the framework of joint activities with other NATO member countries. Therefore, the news about Turkey's involvement of the 91N6 radar of the S-400 SAM system as part of measures to ensure the security of the Alliance summit in Vilnius is indicative.

From open sources, we can learn that as part of measures to ensure the security of the summit in Vilnius, NATO countries planned to deploy several Patriot and NASAMS SAM systems. It has not been reported whether the 91N6 radar station from Turkey was involved in joint work with these air defense systems.

But it seems that the Alliance specialists will use this radar for completely different purposes - for example, to study all its components in detail, and to investigate how the russian federation circumvents Western sanctions for the production of such equipment. Separately, Western specialists can also find out all the peculiarities of the operation of this radar, in order to share the necessary information with colleagues in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This will help the defenders of Ukraine to more effectively destroy the elements of the air defense system of the russian occupiers near the front line and in the temporarily occupied territories.

The 91N6 radar as part of the S-400 SAM system is responsible for the early detection of targets, the range of detection of ballistic missiles declared by the russians is up to 230 km, aerodynamic targets are up to 390 km, targets of the "strategic bomber" type are up to 570 km.
