India, despite everything, still continues defense cooperation with russia, as evidenced by the tests of the russian Typhoon-K armored personnel carrier, which were conducted by the state enterprise Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL). Photos from the trial run are published by Indian specialized sources:
The appearance of the russian K-53949 Typhoon-K in India is most likely related to the Indian Ministry of Defense's intention to order 800 light armored vehicles.

However, when it comes to the localization of certain models of russian military equipment, the question may arise as to what exactly can be localized.
The fact is that the K-53949 Typhoon-K has repeatedly become a trophy of the Ukrainian Defense Forces since the start of the full-scale war, has been studied in detail, and has not warranted special attention.
The total weight of the K-53949 Typhoon-K is 14 tons. The armored vehicle is equipped with a 350-horsepower Cummins engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Typhoon-K armor protects the crew from ammunition of 14.5 mm caliber, armor-piercing bullets of B-32 type and armor-piercing-incendiary bullets (level 3 according to STANAG 4560), as well as a blast of 8 kg of TNT under the bottom and 10 kg - under the wheel. The 4x4 chassis achieved this thanks to axles from Timoney in Ireland. And overall, almost every component or assembly of this product is from Western manufacturers.

Therefore, the question of what exactly India will localize from this russian armored vehicle becomes fascinating. The main thing is to ensure that the components do not flow to russia through the joint venture in India.
