Recall that the Vegvisir Core system is a joint Estonian-Croatian development. The development of such a system became known in early 2022, and the product was launched in early September of this year.

Vegvisir is a technology that allows users to observe, navigate, make decisions and act faster on the battlefield and in critical situations. Simply put, according to the manufacturer, the system enables the armored vehicle crew to “see through walls.”

The system uses cameras, sensors, and image processing algorithms to provide 360-degree MR/VR images to the vehicle crew with a display on the military.

As a result, the crew inside the armored vehicle can still see not only their immediate surroundings, but also enemy positions in real time at a distance of up to 10 km, according to a statement from Defensphere.

Key features of Vegvisir:

  • A modular configuration that allows you to use individual solutions to solve 95% of potential user tasks;
  • Four levels of redundant sensors: driver sensor system, short-range sensor system with bird’s eye view, medium-range sensor system with full infrared channel and long-range commander’s sight;
  • Ruggedized helmet displays with VR interface or screen options;
  • 360-degree mounted commander’s sight with four viewpoints and a range of up to 10 km;
  • Low light optics for night driving;
  • Multispectral sensing.

Vegvisir is developed in accordance with NATO military standards.

The system provides information about the locations of both friendly and enemy units on the battlefield by overlaying their positions on video, offering real-time data on their whereabouts and movement directions, and displaying the status of various vehicle functions. It can be integrated with information systems and other interfaces.
