Ukrainian specialized manufacturer of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems showcases its most effective solutions so far, tested on real battlefield: the Borey Tent air conditioner, Kyiv 50 and Kharkiv 90 evaporators for temporary structures and armored vehicles

Thermo Projects Ukraine LLC (TPU) is a newcomer at the Eurosatory 2024 military exhibition, held June 17–20 in Paris. Sharing a stand with other Ukrainian companies, TPU demonstrates heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for military vehicles. These devices have already been battle-proven and received good reviews from the Ukrainian troops who are actively using them, now the company aims to show its products to international customers.

In particular, TPU presents the Borey Tent 170 mobile conditioner for mobile and temporary structures, alongside the Kharkiv 90 AC system and the Kyiv 50 AC extension, already drawing the attention of both passers-by and interested partners.

"The fact that our products are used in real combat conditions has heightened interest from foreign customers. This is what we have seen here, participating in the Eurosatory 2024 international arms exhibition," says Volodymyr Ivanytskyi, Deputy Director and Project Manager at TPU.

The company representatives note that the Borey Tent 120/170 mobile conditioner grabs the most attention. Featuring a cooling performance of 12 or 17 kW, the device can effectively create a comfortable temperature for up to 30–40 people inside a tent, depending on the type of tent and the materials it's made of.

Besides comfort for personnel out on the field, proper conditioning is also important for a wide range of military electronic equipment, especially in summer and in countries with a hot climate.

Also, TPU's stand presents the Kharkiv 90 and the Kyiv 50 evaporative coolers. The manufacturer positions them as components to integrate into armored fighting vehicles. The former is a full-fledged HVAC system, and the latter is an AC extension to the main conditioner.

These devices, developed by Thermo Projects Ukraine, can supplement the pre-installed standard heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system or create a new unique one, tailored to the specific type of vehicle.

Worth noting, the company's portfolio already includes projects for domestic customers and export contracts. Namely, TPU developed an HVAC system for the Kozak-5A armored personnel carrier from the Practika Research and Production Association. The main conditioner secures optimal temperature for the engine and the cabin, while the rear component independently creates comfort in the landing squad compartment. The landing crew in this section can adjust the air conditioning settings on their own via a separate control panel.

A batch of armored MRAP vehicles equipped with this system was procured by a Middle Eastern country with a hot climate. Which exact country it was, the company does not disclose.

Thermo Projects Ukraine emphasizes that the main method of their work is not producing off-the-shelf products but a personalized approach with custom solutions for each project. Based on the client's requirements, the company's engineers select which product to integrate into the armored vehicle and all the other components of the climate control system. Often they have to create unique devices from scratch to adapt them to the customer's needs and wants.

In the near future, TPU is planning to expand the family of Borey conditioners, currently numbering four products adapted for different parameters and operational environments: the Borey Tent 120/170, Borey Compact, Borey XL, Boreyl, and also developing CBRN air filtration systems that ensure safe operation of personnel and equipment in the event of an adversary using mass destruction weapons.

The visitors of Eurosatory 2024 can take a closer look and find detailed specifications of Thermo Projects Ukraine's products at the C35 stand, Hall 5a.

Earlier, Defense Express covered other participants of the Eurosatory 2024 exhibition from Ukraine and the wide spectrum of technologies they present, ranging from counter-UAS and SIGINT systems to the Mace loitering munition and Magura V5 naval drones which are actively used by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine in their operations against the Black Sea Fleet of the russian federation.
