Military pilots launched an aerial firefighting mission using the Ka-32 helicopters to contain a massive blaze triggered by enemy drones

Last night, russian occupation forces launched another terrorist attack on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, employing the Shahed-type drones. The hostile strike resulted in a large-scale fire erupting in the Obolonskyi district, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

Under the orders of Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Intelligence, aviation units were immediately deployed to help extinguish the blaze. The swift response underscored the military's commitment to protecting civilians beyond the front lines.

Two multipurpose Ka-32 helicopters participated in the aerial operation. Despite challenging conditions marked by thick smoke and high temperatures, the crews performed 40 water drops, delivering up to 120 tons of water to combat the fire.

The commander of the aviation unit, known by the call sign Maestro, shared insights into the operation, "Following the brutal strikes on Kyiv, we identified large fires at civilian facilities. I reported our readiness to assist the population to Kyrylo Budanov, who gave the order for immediate deployment."

Coordinating closely with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the aviation crews and firefighters successfully contained and extinguished the massive fire within three hours. This joint effort was crucial in minimizing further destruction.

Thanks to the well-coordinated operation, three industrial enterprises were saved from the fire, preventing additional economic damage and loss.

Kyrylo Budanov praised the aviation crews of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine for their professionalism and dedication.
