Training on new combat equipment is requirement before a potential provision

Operation ORBITAL, the training mission established by the British and Danish Armed Forces for the Armed Forces of Ukraine has published an interesting video from an exercise in the UK. In particular, the footage features Ukrainian soldiers (as claimed in the description) using the Warrior infantry fighting vehicle as part of training.

Important to note, the United Kingdom has not announced any plans to deliver these vehicles to Ukraine yet, but a recently announced military assistance package includes, among other things, Challenger 2 main battle tanks and the FV430 Mk3 Bulldog. The latter is one of the main tracked armored vehicles of the British Army, less capable than the Warrior.

Earlier the UK committed to providing infantry fighting vehicles in a joint statement with Estonia, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, Denmark, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Slovakia.

Although, Great Britain didn't go as far as promising its own IFVs and only said it will give spare parts to "refurbish up to a hundred Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles", while the role of providing IFVs was delegated to Poland and Slovakia.

On a brief note, the Warrior IFV is comparable to the Challenger 2 tank in terms of specifications and performance while providing fire support and accommodation for a party of seven troops in the landing compartment; the crew is three people.

The armament is a 30mm Rarden cannon, a 7.62mm automatic gun and a set of eight 94mm HEAT rockets. Thermal imaging systems allow the vehicle to effectively operate during the nighttime.
