What features in the use of Ukrainian aviation can this demonstrate

The press service of the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force published a video of one of the episodes of combat work of its Su-24M tactical bombers.

This video demonstrates how a pair of such bombers under the cover of a pair of Su-27 fighter aircraft strikes at russian occupiers using Kh-25ML guided missiles and successfully returns to base.

The place and time of the action are not disclosed in this case. It should be noted that the fact of Kh-25ML guided missiles usage to destroy russian invaders was demonstrated again. Previously, footage of this type of weapon from Ukrainian Su-24Ms was shown in public only in August 2022 and March 2024.

Speaking of the Kh-25ML, there is one feature that should be noted. With the weight of the warhead 140 kilograms, this version of the missile claims to be able to pierce concrete of one meter thick. However, its range is only three to ten kilometers.

Such missiles can only hit targets in the frontline zone. These missiles are difficult to use because of the high density of enemy air defense, which puts aircraft at risk.

Nevertheless, if the use of the Kh-25ML by Ukrainian aviation is regular, this leads to the following assumptions and conclusions.

The issue of guided aerial munitions for Ukrainian tactical aviation is still relevant. Kh-25ML guided missiles can be used in conditions of situational shortage of other types of ammunition. For instance, a more rational option would be to use JDAM-ERs, which have a range of up to 40 kilometers.

But even in such difficult conditions, Ukrainian pilots demonstrate their high operational skill, destroying the enemy even despite the resource constraints.

Earlier Defense Express reported that France had sold off patrol aircraft and vehicles that could be helpful for Ukraine.
