Ukrainian naval infantry successfully targeted and destroyed russian Typhoon armored vehicle using attack drones, demonstrating once again the growing impact of unmanned aerial systems on the battlefield.
During a surveillance operation, an aerial reconnaissance team and a drone platoon from the 505th Separate Marine Battalion spotted russian armored vehicle as it advanced toward Ukrainian positions. Quick coordination between the observers and drone operators enabled a rapid and precise strike.

The vehicle in question was identified as the Typhoon, a heavily protected russian armored personnel carrier designed to transport troops safely through combat zones. With an estimated cost of over $2 million per unit, the destruction of such equipment represents both a tactical and economic blow to the russian military.
According to Ukrainian forces, the drone strike rendered the vehicle completely inoperable. The visual confirmation of the hit, published in an official video by the 505th Battalion, underscores Ukraine's ability to detect and neutralize even high-value armored threats in real time.
"This is the price the enemy pays for attempting to seize our land. Wherever we are, we inflict irreparable losses and dismantle even their most ambitious plans," reads the report.
The Typhoon series is one of russia's newer classes of MRAP (mine-resistant ambush protected) vehicles, built for both mobility and survivability. Its defeat by relatively low-cost drones exemplifies the asymmetric advantage that Ukraine continues to leverage through innovation and agility on the battlefield.
As Ukraine intensifies the integration of drone warfare into its frontline operations, each successful strike chips away at russia's technological and logistical advantage, reaffirming that resilience, adaptability, and precision remain powerful assets in this war of attrition.
