Ukraine's Defense Intelligence has revealed that its specialists uncovered and neutralized a network of russian secure military communication terminals operating both along the front line in Ukraine and on the African continent. The discovery, achieved through a combination of technical intelligence tools and operational field methods, marks another major setback for russia's attempts to maintain secure command-and-control channels across its global military footprint.
According to the official statement, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence had been monitoring the terminals for an extended period, exploiting the intercepted data to uncover russian operational plans, troop movements, and command directives. After exhausting the intelligence value of the devices, the service made the strategic decision to publicly disclose their geolocation and subsequently destroy the terminals to further undermine russia's ability to coordinate its forces.

The report highlights that Ukraine's Defense Intelligence continues to successfully unmask russian intentions "on every continent of the globe", emphasizing the increasingly global nature of the war. With russian military advisers, mercenary structures, and logistical networks operating far beyond Europe, the ability to penetrate and track these systems provides Ukraine with a significant informational advantage.
In the context of high-technology warfare, disrupting the enemy's secure communications infrastructure has become a critical capability. Russian forces rely heavily on encrypted battlefield communication systems to coordinate drones, artillery, air support, and logistics. By exposing and eliminating these terminals, Ukraine directly weakens russia's command stability and reduces the speed and reliability of its battlefield decision-making.
Ukraine's Defense Intelligence underscored that significant efforts are dedicated to locating, monitoring, and targeting russian command posts and communication hubs. Whenever operational conditions allow, these nodes become targets for precision strikes, aiming not only to gather intelligence but to remove key elements of russia's leadership and disrupt control structures.
The dismantling of this network comes amid broader Ukrainian efforts to degrade Russia's military infrastructure through long-range strikes, electronic warfare operations, and deep reconnaissance. This ongoing campaign is designed to stretch russian command systems across multiple theaters, forcing them into a reactive posture and eroding their operational cohesion.
"The enemy will not have a safe place anywhere in the world," the agency stated, reaffirming Ukraine's intent to pursue russian assets and command structures wherever they operate.
