What should we know about the new wheeled vehicle strengthening the Ukrainian Army

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received the first batch of the UAT-TISA armored vehicles manufactured by UkrArmoTech. These vehicles have undergone comprehensive testing, been codified in Ukraine, and received a NATO stock number (NSN).

The first presentation of the UAT-TISA took place in February this year during the IDEX-2025 exhibition in Abu Dhabi. These vehicles can be used for transporting cargo and mobile units, as well as conducting reconnaissance missions. This was reported by the press service of UkrArmoTech.

From Defense Express we should emphasize that the UAT-TISA has several interesting features in terms of the characteristics and design of this vehicle. It should be noted that the UAT-TISA is designed on an upgraded chassis of the Toyota Land Cruiser LC79, where UkrArmorTech specialists have redesigned the running gear with reinforced key components.

The vehicle's armored capsule can accommodate up to four people, including a crew of two. The side doors open in opposite directions to protect soldiers from enemy fire during dismounting.

The design of the UAT-TISA allows for the mounting of a machine gun, electronic warfare and satellite navigation equipment, and VHF radio systems on the vehicle. There is also an option to install night vision devices that display information on a screen in front of the driver, while special headlights have a blackout mode.

The UAT-TISA can be described as an armored pickup truck, a classification that is especially relevant given the widespread use of drones on the front lines. It is also worth noting the development of the UAT-TISA as a pyrotechnic vehicle for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

UAT-TISA specifications:

  • Total weight with payload - 5.5 tons;
  • Dimensions - 5500 x 2250 x 2400 mm;
  • Maximum speed and range - 130 km/h and 1000 km;
  • Fording depth - 0.7 m;
  • Lift angle and banking angle - 30° and 17°, respectively;
  • Maximum torque - 285 N*m (2200 rpm).
