Newly released footage highlights a growing ability to destroy high-value targets far beyond the line of contact

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces are steadily expanding the scope of drone warfare, pushing beyond the immediate front line and striking targets deep in the enemy's operational depth. Newly released footage highlights a series of so-called middle strike operations, missions conducted at intermediate range that bridge the gap between tactical frontline engagements and long-range strategic attacks.

These strikes represent a deliberate evolution in Ukraine's drone doctrine. Rather than focusing solely on direct battlefield support, unmanned units are now systematically targeting assets that sustain and enable enemy operations. This includes logistics hubs, deployment areas, and critical infrastructure located beyond the line of contact but still within operational reach.

According to the Unmanned Systems Forces, operators have been active across key sectors of the front over the past month. Changing weather conditions have played a significant role in shaping the tempo of operations. Improved visibility and more favorable atmospheric conditions have enhanced drone effectiveness, allowing for more precise targeting and increased strike success rates.

A central component of this campaign is the sustained effort to degrade the enemy's air defense capabilities. By systematically identifying and destroying air defense systems, Ukrainian forces are creating more permissive conditions for continued drone operations. This erosion of protective coverage not only increases the survivability of unmanned platforms but also opens corridors for more complex and layered strikes.

The range of targets hit during these operations underscores their operational significance. Footage and official statements indicate successful strikes against helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, suggesting attacks on airfields or forward operating bases. Additionally, maritime assets such as frigates have been targeted, pointing to an expansion of drone capabilities into the naval domain.

Equally notable is the focus on fuel and energy infrastructure, as well as ammunition depots and troop concentration areas. These targets are critical nodes in the enemy's warfighting system. Their destruction disrupts supply chains, limits operational mobility, and reduces the overall sustainability of combat operations.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian unit from the Achilles 429th Brigade reportedly conducted a successful strike on russian military vehicle in the village of Tavrovo, located in russia's Belgorod region. According to the released statement, the target was russian Ural military truck, a widely used logistics vehicle in the armed forces.
