Ukrainian forces have successfully destroyed russian BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher in a precision drone strike, eliminating a high-threat weapon from the battlefield. The operation was carried out by strike drone operators of the 79th Brigade.
The strike was confirmed with footage released by the 7th Rapid Response Corps, showing the weapon's destruction. BM-21 system, a Soviet-era relic still widely used by russian forces, was fully loaded with rockets and posed a serious threat to Ukrainian defensive positions.

The launcher had been deployed on private property in the temporarily occupied settlement of Novoekonomichne. Russian forces attempted to hide the system, but timely intelligence allowed Ukrainian troops to locate the target before it could be used in combat.
Drone operators executed the strike with precision, ensuring the complete destruction of the launcher and its ammunition. Follow-up drone footage captured the successful hit, confirming the effectiveness of the attack.
Targeting such systems is critical, as BM-21 Grad unit can deliver large-scale rocket barrages over populated and frontline areas, causing significant casualties and destruction. Removing these assets reduces the enemy's ability to conduct indirect fire attacks.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian unmanned systems units have carried out a series of precision strikes against russian air defense assets and logistical infrastructure in temporarily occupied territories, continuing a broader campaign to degrade the enemy's ability to sustain combat operations. The attacks were confirmed by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces on the evening of March 17.
