Ukrainian Air Force Downs russian Orion Drone in Kursk Sector

On August 31, Ukraine's Air Defense Forces successfully shot down a russian Orion unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the Kursk sector

According to Ukraine's Air Force, the incident occurred at around 11:00 AM today. The Air Force noted that it had already shot down UAVs of this type in other areas.

The Orion drone, which has been in service with the russian military since 2020, is equipped with onboard systems designed for visual, radar, and radio reconnaissance, allowing for extended patrols in designated areas.

Weighing 1,150 kg with a payload capacity of 200 kg, the Orion can also be armed with up to four different types of munitions, including air-to-surface missiles.
