Fighters of the Chornyi Lis Brigade struck and burned russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system positioned near a road inside russia's Belgorod region

Fighters of Ukraine's Chornyi Lis 15th Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade have struck and destroyed russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system in russia's Belgorod region. Footage of the operation was released on the brigade's official page, documenting both the strike and its aftermath.

According to the report, the Pantsir-S1 system had been on combat duty in an open field near a road in Belgorod region. The location suggests the system was positioned to protect critical infrastructure or reinforce air defense coverage along the border with Ukraine.

The Pantsir-S1 is a short- to medium-range surface-to-air missile and gun system designed to counter a wide array of aerial threats, including drones, cruise missiles, and aircraft. It combines radar detection with both guided missiles and rapid-fire cannons, making it specifically suited to intercept low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles.

However, in this case, russian air defense operators reportedly failed to neutralize either the Ukrainian reconnaissance drone or the strike drone involved in the operation. This allowed Ukrainian forces not only to hit the target but also to record clear visual confirmation of the system's destruction.

Video released by the brigade shows the Pantsir-S1 system engulfed in flames, followed by secondary detonations of its onboard munitions. Notably, civilians traveling on a nearby road also filmed the burning system and subsequent explosions, providing additional visual evidence of the strike's success.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence has released new technical details on a recently deployed russian cruise missile, designated Izdelie-30. The missile, first observed in combat against Ukraine late last year, features a wingspan of approximately 3 meters, a warhead weighing 800 kilograms, and a range of at least 1,500 kilometers.
