Ukrainian forces have reported another successful series of operations against russian aerial reconnaissance. The Nexus special unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, which specializes in neutralizing enemy drones, has destroyed a large number of russian UAVs in Sumy region.

According to released footage, the unit managed to take down dozens of hostile drones in the frontline skies over the past two weeks. The list of destroyed targets includes russian-operated Mavic, Autel, and Molniya drones.

The operations highlight Ukraine's growing ability to counter russian aerial surveillance, which plays a key role in coordinating artillery and guiding strikes. By systematically eliminating reconnaissance drones, Ukrainian forces deny the enemy critical situational awareness on the battlefield.

The Nexus unit has gained a reputation as one of Ukraine's most skilled teams in drone interception. Their work requires both technological expertise and tactical precision, given the variety of enemy UAVs now deployed across the front.

The destruction of russian Mavic and Autel drones is particularly significant, as these commercially available drones have been widely adapted for military use by russian forces. The downing of the Molniya drones further demonstrates Ukraine's capacity to counter more specialized russian systems.

The video evidence serves as proof of the intensity of drone warfare over Sumy region, where russia has increasingly relied on aerial reconnaissance to spot Ukrainian positions. The successful interceptions not only protect Ukrainian troops but also limit russia's ability to coordinate effective strikes.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian forces continue to demonstrate the effectiveness of unmanned systems on the modern battlefield. A recent operation by the Sapsan unmanned systems battalion underscores just how critical drones have become in countering russian artillery.

According to the official report, a pilot from the Sapsan battalion located and destroyed two russian artillery units within just a few minutes of combat work. The targets were russian 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer and D-30 towed howitzer, both widely used by russian forces.
