General Staff has released an operational update on the state of warfare as of 18.00 on May 1, 2022.
According to the report, In Mykolayiv direction, the enemy regroups its units. In order to clarify the situation and identify the positions of our units, the enemy conducted air reconnaissance with the involvement of UAVs in the eastern part of Mykolayiv and the north-western part of Kherson regions.

According to the General Staff data, the danger of enemy missile strikes on Ukrainian military and civilian infrastructure from the territory of Belarus, as well as provocations near the state border of Ukraine are possible.
The Russian military continues committing illegal actions against the citizens of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, the invaders hinder the free movement of Ukrainians to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine.
The aggressors also continue to try to form a system of so-called authorities in the temporarily occupied territories. The General Staff urges Ukrainians to resist the enemy.
Key points of the report:
- In Donetsk and Tavriysky directions, the Russian army tried to establish full control over the settlements of Rubizhne and Popasna but failed and suffered losses.
- Russian troops carried out unsuccessful assaults in the area of Ozerne and Marinka. The enemy suffered casualties near Vremivka and Zelene Pole.
- In the Southern Buh direction, the enemy carries out military operations to reach the administrative borders of Kherson region and create favorable conditions for the attack on Mykolayiv and Kryvyi Rih cities. The enemy focused its main efforts on Kryvyi Rih direction and fired artillery on Ukrainian positions in the area of Tavriyske, Osokorivka, Trudoliubivka, and Kniazivka.
- In Slobozhansky direction, the enemy fired mortars at the positions of the Defense Forces in the area of Uda and Prudianka. Russian army suffered casualties near Stary Saltiv.
- In Izium direction, the enemy tried to conduct offensive operations but failed and suffered manpower and hardware losses.
- In Siversky direction, the Russian army fired on Ukrainian positions near Senkivka. To identify the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sumy direction, the enemy conducted air reconnaissance using UAVs.
- Demonstration activities along the state border of Ukraine as well as the resumption of fire damage to Ukrainian units and infrastructure in the border areas in this direction are possible in the future.
- In Volyn and Polissia directions, the enemy did not take active action.
Defense Express reported earlier that warriors of the National Guard of Ukraine destroyed an enemy BMP-2 and damaged a tank in Izium direction. We also reported that in the war against russian occupiers ordinary drones with usual mines are enough to annihilate the enemy and their armo.
