Drone crews of the Achilles 429th Regiment struck and disabled two of russia's rare heavy flamethrower launchers

Crews of the Achilles 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment have delivered a precise strike against two russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy multiple launch rocket systems in the Kupiansk sector. According to reports, both launchers were successfully hit and put out of action.

The TOS-1A system is one of the most destructive weapons in russia's arsenal, often referred to as a flamethrower system. It uses thermobaric rockets designed to incinerate enemy positions and cause devastating damage across wide areas. The system has been regularly employed by the occupiers to target both Ukrainian defensive lines and civilian settlements.

By neutralizing two of these rare and expensive systems in a single operation, Ukraine's Achilles drone operators have not only eliminated a serious battlefield threat but also inflicted a significant financial and psychological blow on the enemy. Each TOS-1A system is a high-value asset, with limited numbers available in russia's arsenal.

The strike highlights the increasing role of drone warfare in countering heavy weapons that were once considered nearly untouchable. Using relatively low-cost unmanned systems, Ukrainian forces have repeatedly managed to take out artillery, tanks, and now even some of russia's most feared MLRS platforms.

Operationally, the loss of two TOS-1A systems reduces the enemy's ability to conduct large-scale bombardments against Ukrainian defenses. This directly contributes to saving lives among both military personnel and civilians in frontline settlements.

As Defense Express previously reported, special operations deep inside enemy territory again showcased Ukraine's ability to strike where the occupier felt safe. A joint operation by fighters from the 73rd Maritime Special Operations Center together with operatives of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine carried out a special reconnaissance mission in a region of the russian federation, setting the conditions for a decisive ambush on moving enemy transport. The engagement ended with the destruction of the vehicle and the death of three russian servicemen.
