Ukrainian drones hit the maintenance part of the air base, where russian aircraft were crowded

On Friday, June 14, the Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted a long-range strike using drones. It targeted the Morozovsk air base in Rostov Oblast. It is placed about 300 kilometers from the current frontline.

It is known that residents of the settlements located near the air base complained about the sounds of explosions and fire. But the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation has traditionally reported of destruction of all long-range Ukrainian drones. At the same time, allegedly 70 drones in Rostov Oblast were destroyed.

But satellite images released by OSINT analyst Brady Africk show that the drones did reach their destination. In particular, the following result was recorded at the Morozovsk air base:

The satellite image shows the technical and operational part of the air base. Aircraft are inspected, maintained and repaired there. On June 4, five aircraft were spotted at once at the site in front of it, which can be identified as Su-34 fighter-bombers or Su-30 fighters (in the version with horizontal stabilizer).

The signs of a fire on the site as well as a direct hit to the hangar where the aircraft are serviced can be seen in the image from June 14. Two aircraft also can be seen there.

In other words, it is impossible to say that five aircraft were destroyed or damaged during this strike. It is known that from June 4 russian jets changed their location.

But taking into account image of Santinel by the European Space Agency that was taken early in the morning on June 13 (08:26 UTC), it is possible to see that there is only one aircraft on the site.

Thus, given that there are traces of fire on the site in front of the destroyed hangar, it is possible to assume that at least three russian aircraft were eliminated. Two in the hangar and one in front of it.

Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukrainian strike on Crimean S-300/400 had destroyed important targets.
