Artillery crews of Ukraine's Pomsta Brigade have released footage of Humvee-mounted RAK SA-12 firing rockets at russian targets before immediately leaving the launch position

Artillery crews of Ukraine's Pomsta Brigade have demonstrated the combat use of Croatian-made RAK SA-12 128 mm multiple-launch rocket system mounted on U.S.-made Humvee chassis, combining a lightweight rocket launcher with a mobile vehicle platform.

The footage was published by Ukraine's 3rd Detachment. It shows the Unit-A artillery crew deploying the system, firing at russian targets, and immediately leaving the launch position.

The RAK SA-12 is a 128 mm multiple-launch rocket system developed in Croatia. It features 12 launch tubes and can fire a full salvo in approximately 9.6 seconds, allowing the crew to deliver a concentrated strike before relocating.

With standard rockets, the system has a reported maximum firing range of approximately 8.5 km. This places it within the category of relatively short-range rocket artillery suitable for engaging targets close to the front line.

RAK SA-12 system was originally designed as a lightweight towed launcher weighing less than one tonne. Ukrainian troops have adapted the system by mounting it directly on Humvee chassis, eliminating the need to tow the launcher separately.

The vehicle-mounted configuration improves the system's mobility by allowing the crew to drive directly into a firing position, launch its rockets, and withdraw without spending additional time detaching or repositioning a trailer.

This approach is particularly relevant on a battlefield where russian reconnaissance drones can detect artillery positions and enable rapid counterattacks. Reducing the time spent at a firing position can help crews limit their exposure after launching rockets.
