London's new military package includes strike, reconnaissance, logistics, and naval drones already tested in combat

The United Kingdom has announced what it describes as its largest-ever military aid package for Ukraine, centered on the delivery of at least 120,000 drones in 2026. The scale of the commitment signals a major expansion of London's support for Ukraine's unmanned warfare capabilities at a critical stage of the war.

According to an official statement from the British government, the new package includes a wide range of drone types. These cover long-range strike drones, reconnaissance platforms, logistics drones, and naval drones, many of which have already been tested in combat conditions on the battlefield.

The announcement comes alongside a high-level diplomatic meeting in Berlin. UK Defence Secretary John Healey is attending the 34th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein format, together with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The timing of the package highlights the growing importance of drones in modern warfare. Ukraine has increasingly relied on unmanned systems not only for reconnaissance but also for precision strikes, logistics support, and maritime operations in contested areas.

Deliveries under the new package have already begun this month. This rapid rollout is intended to ensure that Ukrainian forces can quickly integrate additional drone systems into active operations.

Financially, the drone package is part of the United Kingdom's broader £3 billion military assistance program for Ukraine this year. Additional funding is also being drawn from international mechanisms, including the ERA initiative, further reinforcing the scale and sustainability of support.
