The enemy carried out a combined air strike on Ukraine, using at the same time a rather unusual nomenclature, and it is worth paying special attention to this attack

On the night of July 19, the russian invaders launched another terrorist missile attack on Ukraine - the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has already reported on the number of missiles fired and destroyed targets, and this strike, in terms of the range of means used, is extremely different from the previous ones.

So, if recently the occupiers mainly used Iranian kamikaze drones of the Shahed type and less often Kalibr cruise missiles for the attack, today in several waves of attacks the occupiers also used Kh-22, Onyx and Kh-59 missiles .

As noted in the Armed Forces Air Force Command, the attack was carried out from the south, in general, the distribution of launched missiles and drones and downed targets is as follows.

The enemy used kamikaze drones of the Shahed 131/136 type in the most traditional manner – a total of 32 drones were launched, of which 23 were shot down, or 71.8% of the total number.

The enemy also used 16 Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles, likely launched from the Ingushetia small missile ship and the Admiral Essen frigate in the Black Sea - 13 missiles or 81.25% of them were destroyed.

Eight Kh-22 cruise missiles were fired from Tu-22m3 strategic bombers flyed over the Black Sea, and six Oniks cruise missiles launched from the Bastion coastal missile system in Crimea. There are no reports of the downing of the Kh-22 and Onyx missiles.

Another missile was fired from the Su-35 fighter ower the Black Sea, it is a Kh-59 guided missile, which was successfully destroyed by air defense units.

In total, the enemy launched 63 air targets over Ukraine at night, of which 37 or 58.7% of all launched missiles and drones were shot down. Moreover, it is worth noting that for targets such as Iranian kamikaze drones and Kalibr missiles, air defense units traditionally have a fairly high rate of destroyed targets (if taken in total, 36 or 75% of 48 targets were destroyed).

It should be noted that this time the enemy used such missiles as the Kh-22 as well as the Onyx missile, which the enemy rarely uses for strikes on Ukraine.

As noted in the South operational command, the Onyx and X-22 missiles were aimed at port and critical infrastructure, grain and oil terminals were hit, tanks and loading equipment were damaged. There is no information about the victims, the relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the strike.

As a conclusion, it can be noted that the enemy carried out a rather dangerous combined strike, and it is possible that such combined strikes will also be carried out in the future. Considering this, it is currently relevant for Ukraine to build up various means of air defense, obtain from allies and increase the available modern air defense systems, such as Patriot or SAMP/T, which will allow to shoot down more targets that are unreachable for other air defense systems.
