The Nemesis 412th Regiment is actively working to dismantle russia’s layered artillery system, having already destroyed or disabled over 1,500 howitzers and guns. Their operations focus on overcoming the challenges associated with detecting and neutralizing these weapons.
Howitzers are compact and easily camouflaged, making them difficult to locate. At night, thermal imaging can reveal the heat signature of the barrel after firing, but only for a short time. Additionally, towed artillery is highly resistant to damage, nearby explosions do not always render it inoperable. A precise cumulative strike is required to disable key components such as the barrel, aiming mechanisms, or exposed ammunition.
