New air-to-air missile capabilities expand the Magura drone’s functionalities

On May 30, two Magura drones were deployed during an attack on russian Tunets boats. One drone targeted russian fortification. Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reported this incident.

“When the Magura drone breaches a sea fortification or barrier, the subsequent drone proceeds directly to the target. This was demonstrated during the simultaneous destruction of four high-speed Tunets-type boats. Notably, aviation, artillery and small arms were not utilized,” Andriy Yusov stated.

According to Andriy Yusov, successfully targeting four boats with a single drone is a significant achievement. However, he emphasized that intelligence efforts are continuously focused on enhancing operational efficiency, as the enemy is also adapting and working to protect their vessels.

“Each successful operation results in the destruction of costly russian ships and the loss of highly trained specialists,” he added.

Andriy Yusov also mentioned that one modification of the Magura drone is equipped with air-to-air missiles, enabling it to target aerial objects as well.
