Russian forces are intensively constructing fortifications near Mariupol, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, confirmed this in a statement to Ukrinform.

“They are systematically working on fortifications everywhere and preparing for various scenarios of actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is understandable, and we are monitoring it,” Andriy Yusov said.
When asked if this indicates the enemy is preparing to repel a possible attack, Andriy Yusov affirmed the ongoing preparations.
