Margarita Robles, the Head of the Ministry of Defense of Spain, announced the latest package of defense assistance, as reported on the official website of the ministry. This announcement was made during the thirteenth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, known as Ramstein, with a focus on the delivery of armored vehicles.
Spain is sending 20 M113 armored personnel carriers (APCs) to Ukraine. These vehicles will join the existing fleet of 40 units that have already been supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new shipment of M113 APCs is expected to arrive in Poland on June 19.

It should be noted that Spain has substantial stocks of these armored personnel carriers. In addition to deploying them to assist in the fight against the aggressors, Spain also has plans to implement unmanned platforms based on these vehicles.
Furthermore, Spain will augment the Ukrainian stocks of Leopard 2A4 tanks by providing four tanks, in addition to the previously announced ten. While four tanks may not seem like a large number, Spain’s contribution holds crucial significance in supporting Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
Ukraine will also receive a Role II Plus field hospital. It is noted that this hospital is capable of providing support to a heavy brigade with urgent surgery, critical stabilization, laboratory services, and pharmaceutical services.
Before the transfer of this field hospital to Ukraine, training for Ukrainian military personnel will be conducted in Spain.
